2023 Annual Fund Campaign: Keep the Hangar Soaring High!

Join this incredible community in helping the Hangar Theatre to achieve a brighter and more sustainable future. We believe that access to the arts is an essential and urgent tool for strengthening community bonds, improving mental health, instigating important dialogues, and sparking joy. Now, more than ever, the Hangar Theatre needs our community’s support. Please be a part of this important effort to keep the Hangar soaring high.

How will my funds be used?

  • The Hangar Theatre’s Annual Fund helps to enhance the Hangar’s theatrical programs for children, both as patrons and participants, and to ensure the continued stability and sustainability of these unique offerings.
  • Our goal is for all young people in Tompkins County, regardless of economic means, to have access to excellent theatrical performances and the opportunity to engage in high quality arts education programs that allow them to express their most authentic and joyful selves through theatre, music, and movement.
  • Funds will specifically support the Hangar Theatre’s Next Generation School of Theatre, Project 4 Arts-in-the-Classroom residencies, and KIDDSTUFF Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) programming.

Lisa Bushlow Education Fund

  • Providing strong education and training programs are central parts of our commitment to the local and national artistic communities. From Project 4: Artists in the Schools to our Lab Company, a donation to the Lisa Bushlow Education Fund helps support theatre arts education and professional training programs. Help us continue and grow our hallmark education and artist-training programs. Named in honor of longtime Executive Director and Hangar Theatre education advocate and pioneer, Lisa Bushlow.
  • Click here to learn more about the transformation of the Hangar Lab Company into the Hangar Lab Company Performance Fellowship program. The Lab has provided theatrical experiences and educational opportunities for hundreds of emerging artists since 1991, but up until 2022, this opportunity existed as a tuition-based program. Since then, this program has been reshaped into a compensated performance fellowship.
