LISA BUSHLOW (Executive Director) celebrates her twenty-third (23rd!) season with the Hangar Theatre, and her eleventh year as executive director. While studying at Cornell University to obtain a combined degree in theatre, psychology and education, Lisa’s contribution to the Hangar first began as a KIDDSTUFF and Lab Company intern in 1989. For the following decade, she served as the theatre’s founding education director, where Lisa was instrumental in transforming the Hangar into a year-round institution that places teaching artists in elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Tompkins County. Before joining the Hangar staff full-time, Lisa worked at the John F. Kennedy Center’s Theatre for Young People in Washington, DC and directed numerous educational productions at local public schools and arts venues. Lisa’s all-time favorite job is being mom to her two sons, Samuel and Julian. They each inspire her on a daily basis, and clearly illustrate Lisa’s true passion—family.
