Hangar Theatre's School Tour: THE TRUTH ABOUT DINOSAURS Performs

MARCH 5, 2008 (Ithaca, NY) The Hangar Theatre’s SCHOOL TOUR program, now in its thirteenth year, is performing a play for elementary school children: THE TRUTH ABOUT DINOSAURS. The play was commissioned by the Hangar Theatre in August of 2002 and written by New York City based playwright, Jim Knable with the assistance of our community partner, the Paleontological Research Institution’s Museum of the Earth. THE TRUTH ABOUT DINOSAURS is touring to twenty-three elementary schools in New York during a four week period. The story of the dinosaurs comes alive in this series of three tales that will entertain and educate students grades K through five. Follow Trenchcoat, a funny and engaging detective narrator, as he leads the way through three different family scenarios, while all along fun facts about the field of paleontology and the lives of dinosaurs are revealed with story and sing-along songs. This play will peak the interest of young people in science and history and also address important character education topics like bullying, forgiveness, self-love, and respect. Public performances of THE TRUTH ABOUT DINOSAURS will be held at the Groton Public Library, Saturday, March 8, at 2:00 p.m. and at The Museum of the Earth, Saturday, March 22, at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.. Following the performance at The Museum of the Earth is a Dino Egg Hunt at 1:00 p.m.. For more information on these public performances visit www.hangartheatre.org or call 607-273-8588
