The Hangar Theatre does not accept unsolicited scripts for its Mainstage season. Unsolicited Mainstage scripts will not be returned to the playwright.
The Hangar Theatre accepts and strongly encourages script submissions of full-length plays and musicals for consideration in its Mainstage season from playwrights with whom the theatre has a previous relationship, including those formerly produced in the Lab Company Playwriting Residencies, as well as the writers of previous School Tour, KIDDSTUFF, and Mainstage productions at the Hangar.
Additionally, the Hangar accepts agent submissions of full-length plays for consideration in its Mainstage season.
The Hangar Theatre accepts unsolicited scripts of plays and musicals for children and families. These plays must have a 30-60 minute running time.

The Hangar Theatre strongly invites and encourages all playwrights to submit one–act plays for consideration for its Lab Company Playwriting Residencies. Four plays are selected each year, with the playwright being invited to spend several weeks in Ithaca with the Hangar Theatre Lab Company of emerging theater artists. This is an excellent opportunity to meet, work with and establish professional relationships with the artistic staff of the Hangar Theatre.
