Each summer, the Hangar Theatre Next Generation School offers elementary, middle, and high school students an unforgettable summer of training in the performing arts. With classes in acting, singing, and dancing, the Next Generation School creates a safe environment where campers are encouraged to develop new skills and friendships. Workshop instructors are professional artists who work nationally in the performing arts and teach the most current techniques in their disciplines. There is something for everyone at the Hangar Theatre, located in beautiful Ithaca, New York. Camps begin in July and run through August.
Last summer was another exciting one for the Hangar Theatre Next Generation School. We had an extraordinary response from campers who had a fantastic experience and want to come back for another summer! We made some big changes to provide more options for campers and more flexibility for families. The new three week HANGAR CAMP program was a huge success, the expansion of the HANGAR TEENS program into separate sessions of Acting Intensive and Musical Theatre Performance gave middle school students more opportunities, and our new COLLEGE PREP program gave high school students the skills to achieve their dreams.
In 2010 we are designing a summer experience better than ever before. We will continue to offer the same flexibility as last summer and we are putting together a superlative faculty of both professional local artists and nationally recognized artists who come to work on our Mainstage plays and musicals. Our COLLEGE PREP program will be in residence at Ithaca College, allowing students from all over the country to participate. And this year, all CAMP and TEENS students will perform on the beautifully renovated Neiderkorn Stage at the HANGAR THEATRE!

Join the Hangar for three fun filled weeks of theater! This half day program is jam packed with exciting classes in acting, singing, dancing and more. Campers will top off their experience with a showcase of their talents on the Hangar stage!
Focus on non-musical acting, musical theatre, or both! Take your theatre skills to the next level with support from excellent teachers who are professional artists in their fields.
Small class size and high quality artists/instructors sets Hangar College Prep apart from other summer theatre programs. Take workshops in acting technique, movement, and voice.
The Hangar Theatre does not wish to turn any one away due to financial constraints. You can apply for a scholarship to any of the Next Generation programs here.
