Ithaca Community Orchestra Spring Concert

4pm at Hangar Theatre

The Ithaca Community Orchestra returns to the Hangar Theatre for their annual Spring Concert.

The Program includes: 

Warlock: Capriol Suite

Strauss: Horn Concerto No. 1
Dave Unland, Tuba soloist

Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake,Ballet Suite
conducted by Brian Diller

Dvorak: Symphony No. 9 "New World"

Plus, pieces performed in collaboration with the Ageless Jazz Ensemble. 

Reception to follow the concert. 

There is a suggested donation of $7 at the door (children are admitted free), and concertgoers are invited to a reception immediately following the concert.  

James Mick, Music Director
Brian Diller, Assistant Conductor 

In addition to directing the ICO, Dr. James Mick is an Assistant Professor of Music Education at Ithaca College and the music director and conductor of the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. He frequently appears as a guest clinician and conductor with public school orchestras and honor ensembles across the country. He has also appeared at numerous state, national, and international locations including recent engagements with the national American String Teachers Association conference, the International Mid-West Band and Orchestra Clinic, and the American School of London (UK).

Since 2001, the Ithaca Community Orchestra has provided a continuous musical experience for talented players from throughout the Ithaca area.  The ICO has collaborated with the Ithaca Shakespeare Company, Ithaca Community Chorus, the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation, and the Museum of the Earth and has been a participant of Spring Writes and the First Friday Gallery Night.
