Annual Fund Manager

The Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY, is seeking a full-time Annual Fund Manager.  The Annual Fund Manager is responsible for a full range of institutional advancement activities related to development, communication, public relations, and stewardship. This position requires hands-on fundraising and is responsible for meeting development goals as established by the Managing Director in conjunction with the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, professional, and have a strong background in development. This position requires a strong project manager and team player, as well as computer proficiency and attention to detail.  Bachelor's degree in theatre administration, or related area and fundraising experience required. Concessions Manager

The Hangar Theatre is seeking a Concessions Manager to run the concessions bar for our Mainstage series this summer. Successful candidates will be articulate, detail-oriented individuals with strong customer service skills who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Food service experience a plus. Responsibilities include concessions set-up and sales, inventory, and regular supplies runs. 

This seasonal summer position reports to the Audience Services Manager. The Concessions Manager is responsible for the maintenance and smooth operation of the concessions bar at all Hangar productions in the theatre.

NOTE: if hired, you will be required to take a TIPS online training course in alcohol service and safety in order to comply with the Hangar’s liquor liability insurance. Already having a valid certificate of completion is a plus. Must be 18 or older in order to comply with New York’s laws on alcohol service.

Mainstage House Manager

The Hangar Theatre is seeking a House Manager for our Mainstage series this summer. The Mainstage House Manager is the point person for the large majority of Hangar patrons throughout the season. Successful candidates will be articulate, highly organized individuals with strong customer services skills and an ability to juggle multiple tasks at once. Management experience a plus. This position is responsible (along with the Audience Services Manager) for the successful operation of front of house on Mainstage performance days and will work with the Production Stage Manager, Box Office, and Concessions staff to keep each performance on schedule. This position is also expected to work in tandem with the KIDDSTUFF House Manager to achieve the overall goals of Hangar Audience Services. This includes scheduling and communications with the PROPS volunteer corp. This seasonal summer position reports to the Audience Services Manager and assists in overseeing the Front of House intern program.

Front of House Intern

The Hangar Theatre is seeking a Front of House Intern to assist with our Mainstage and KIDDSTUFF series this summer. Successful candidates will be articulate, detail-oriented individuals with initiative and strong customer service skills. You will be working closely with the Mainstage and KIDDSTUFF house managers as well as the Box Office and Concessions staff. Front of House interns get the opportunity to rotate through all of the front of house responsibilities and experience how to successfully see a production through its run. You will also have the opportunity to take courses throughout the summer with other members of the Hangar staff in order to learn firsthand the operations of a regional theatre company. 

This stipend position reports to the Audience Services Manager and clocks 20-40 hours weekly starting in early June.
