The Hangar Theatre is a nationally-recognized professional theatre. Located in beautiful Ithaca, New York, the Hangar is home to the Lab Company, an intensive summer theatre training program for young professionals in acting, directing, design, and playwriting. Lab Company artists are selected via a competitive national search. In 2010, The Lab Company will run June 6th to August 1st, in conjunction with the Hangar's season. It will encompass nearly twenty productions on the Hangar's Mainstage, KIDDSTUFF, and Wedge stages.

Twenty-four actors, four designers, three assistant directors, and six playwrights will be invited to participate in the 2010 Lab Company. In addition, three directors will be selected by the Drama League Directors Project to serve as the artistic leadership of the Lab Company.

Lab Company artists attend master classes taught by professional guest artists. Each Lab Company artist is cast in, assistant directs, or designs a new production every two weeks, totaling at least three different productions during his or her training residency at the Hangar Theatre. The Lab Company application deadline is March 30, 2010.
