In addition to many exceptional theatrical reviews, the Hangar Theatre was in the press almost weekly this year; from the Syracuse Post Standard, Ithaca Times, to the Ithaca Journal. If the Hangar wasn't the top news story, there was sure to be an article inside. The Hangar won "Best Live Performance Theatre" in the "Best of Ithaca" poll through the Ithaca Times. Hangar and the Kitchen Theatre were both honored this year for their capital campaign and project successes. Both organizations received the "Pride of Ownership Award" from the Ithaca Rotary Club and City of Ithaca. The theatres were featured together in the August, 2010 issue of American Theatre's "News in Brief." This monthly publication reaches theatre professionals nationwide.

The Hangar's production of Rent received the SALT 2010 Summer Season "Production of the Season" Award. HOLT Architects were recognized with an Honorable Mention by the AIA of Southern NY Chapter and Ryan-Biggs Associates received the Platinum Award in the structural systems category of the American Council of Engineering Companies of NY (ACECNY) for their work on the Hangar Theatre rehabilitation.
